The City Jungle...

Whenever the sun came out last year on the days when I wasn't working, you could more than likely find me on the beach, or in the Pavilion gardens. Enjoying a picnic, the company of friends or a good book.

It became a bit of an automatic response. Sun in the sky? Let's head to the beach!
Now of course I'm not complaining, and obviously I will still venture to the beach this summer. Only, I want to explore more of this beautiful city too. There are so many gorgeous parks that are perfect for sunny day lazing!

Recently I have been enjoying Dyke Road park, which is a five minute walk from my home. There's a huge field with a view of the city (and sea!) a bowls lawn, and huge overgrown flower beds, which are just amazing!

After shooting some film photos for my talented photographer friend Emma Speight in the morning, she kindly agreed to help me with some photos featuring this Warehouse Dress which I've been waiting to feature for a while.

I love the vibrant pink colour, and sumptuous baroque print. It's a gorgeous pop of brightness that I don't think I could have worn as well with my old hair! My love of being blonde/pink continues to grow!

My blonde hair also makes me feel so much more confident in going make-up free (or very minimal like these photos - a touch of foundation and a smudge of lipstick)
I think the lighter shade lifts my complexion, and stops me feeling so washed out, which is always nice!

To enhance the luscious deep pink of the dress I teamed it with a pair of Office red suede platforms I bought on eBay last year. They're such a great retro design, surprisingly comfortable, and easy enough to walk in!

Emma suggested some photos in front of this sun-dappled door, which I love. During these shots we were terrorised by a very eager dog, and two young boys who were singing this song...I have to admit, their version was much cuter.

We definitely tried to create some photos that were a bit more 'editorial' than my usual content. The jungle-esque surroundings certainly helped make it easier!

I look forward to sharing the film photos that Emma and I did too - in the mean time, check out her website. It's beautiful!

Also worth a mention is that I had a little wardrobe spring clean - items are all listed HERE and end on Sunday the 11th of May. Everything is listed for 99p so you can definitely grab a bargain! Overseas bidders welcome too!

Love Yours Truly, x

  5. NICE dress, and looking lovely. Isn't it wonderful to be surrounded by green again?? I went to Kew Gardens on the weekend and took lots of photos. I noticed the green when I was there, of course, but it particularly struck me when I got the pictures home and was looking through them at all the green, green, green, spring, spring, spring! Hurrah! Keep exploring those parks!
